The Badge of an Original is all about confidence, independence and following your own path. How do you live your life as an original?  

I always follow my heart and my gut when it comes to making decisions. I’m always guided by how something makes me feel, rather than following a crowd. I love starting new chapters and have never been afraid to take on new challenges.    

How does style play a role in your own originality?   

Style plays a role in originality because it’s subjective which allows anyone of us to dress exactly how we’d like and however makes us feel best. What I put on in the morning has a real effect on how I feel throughout the day. Style is such an individual thing, there’s no right or wrong. It’s all about how it makes you feel.    

What is your favourite thing about Barbour International Moto Originals collection? How does this give you the confidence to take on the day?   

I love how Barbour International has the history behind it, making it such a classic brand. It always makes me feel like whatever the occasion my Barbour International jacket will be right - whether it’s dressing it up or down, and that in itself gives me confidence. The brand is confident in who it is and that gives me the confidence to wear it.     

Performing or presenting? 

Both - performing on stage gives me the confidence to explore being slightly different to who I am in everyday life - everything is done on a larger scale, whether it’s costumes, or dancing, or singing - everything is done to the max which I love. Presenting on the other hand is so personal and intimate, it really allows the viewer or listener to know you properly which is a really lovely feeling.   

What motivated you to pursue presenting after a successful career in music?  

I wanted to take on a new challenge and try something different. I love to learn and to further my knowledge on as many things as possible. Presenting also felt like it was an opportunity to be on the other side of the microphone and find out more about others. I’m a really inquisitive person so interviewing people felt like a natural step for me.   

What makes you feel inspired?  

I’m always inspired by the feeling I get when I've taken on a new challenge and  I’ve loved doing it. I love learning and I’m inspired by new adventures and new chapters. I’m always evolving and love to feel like I’m growing from each new thing I'm taking on.  

What does originality mean to you?  

Originality to me is doing something away from the beaten track, because it feels right to you. Every single one of us is so unique and I think being original is about being your true self, because it will inevitably then be different to everyone else. Originality is so exciting and fresh, and forward-thinking.   

What advice would you give to someone wanting to live their life as an original?  

Don’t be afraid to do something different to what people around you are doing. Be brave enough to make unique choices, and to follow your gut rather than what the ’normal’ thing is. Try not to be afraid of failure - sometimes the fear of failure can hold us back from so much, but it’s actually something that makes us learn.
